Horizon Academy accommodates up to 81 students in grades 1-12 with learning disabilities, who have average to above average intelligence, but struggle with:

• Word decoding skills in reading
  
• Oral and written language comprehension and/or expression
  
• Math skills (calculation and problem solving)
  
• Physical education skills
  
• Organization skills
  
• Social skills
  

Our students come from a 75-mile radius from both Kansas and Missouri. Students typically stay an average of three years at Horizon Academy prior to returning to their traditional school.

In addition, Horizon Academy offers educational outreach to the community with professional, parental, and community workshops.
